Longview Border Crossers Minutes
August 10, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Pres. Sam Korff
Members present: Mary and Carl Roy, Sam and Martha Korff, Pat and Ron Schauer, DD Sieglitz, Jan Hellyer, and Emily Carlton
Introductions made for a new guest: Dede Sieglitz.
Minutes were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Same as last meeting; no bills paid or deposits made. Bill from AVA came in at $95.00 for quarterly participation
NW Regional Conference: Sam reported on the meeting in Alaska. There were many walks with great scenery. An hour and half round table was held on how to improve the club. Next regional meeting will be in WA state in 2 yr.
Wednesday Walking: There have been “no shows” the last few weeks. Next Wed, Aug 11, the walk will be in Castle Rock at 6:30 p.m. On the 18th Pat will lead the walk from Kessler Elem. at 6 p.m. as it is Martha and Sam’s anniversary and dinner reservations have been made. On the 25th the walk will be in Winlock, meeting at Cedar Village IGA at 6:30; car pooling will start from Kelso Red Lion at 6 p.m. Carl offered coffee or tea and cookies at our house after the walk.
Future Walks: Sam stated the route for the walk for Dec. 19 from Kessler Elementary is set with the school gym saved from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We will still have soup and no night walk. Sam also thinks we should have a special walk in 2013 for the 3 couples who will be celebrating their 50th Wedding anniversary that year.
Sam and other members explained Volks walking to Dede and gave her a starter packet.
Meeting adjorned at 7:40 p.m.
